About the Artist
My Background
Tim Petrinec grew up in Buffalo and has been drawing since he could hold a pencil. He had his first professional art show in Brooklyn, in 2003. A few years later, he was a visual artist at Bonnaroo Music Festival and in 2009, he was 1 of 12 artists chosen from around the United States to compete in an art reality series.
Shortly thereafter, he created commissioned art for Hard Rock International as well as commissioned art for Wesley Schultz of the Lumineers. Tim lives in Charlotte, NC where he paints professionally.
My Inspiration for 2 Dimensional Music Series
Art should continuously be evolving. Each piece should be a venture into the unknown. The current series titled "2 Dimensional Music" is music based art. Each brush stroke is like a note intended to capture an element of the sound, feel and emotion of a song and placing it on a 2D surface.
Other pieces in the collection show intense realism, intended as an invitation to connect more deeply with the subject.
